Art III

Students continue to develop art skills, but with more emphasis on artistic expression. Students are encouraged to work on developing their own style and finding personal purpose for creating art. Lessons progressively give students more confidence in developing ideas, and they work on at least one series of works on a chosen topic. Class discussions and critiques enable students to gain insight into artworks   their own and others’. Students are challenged with experiences in such areas as drawing, painting, print making, sculpture and mixed media. Students learn how to mat and present their works as they develop a portfolio. This course is intended for students who are motivated to do their best work and focus independently.
