¨       Maintained good attendance

¨       Continue to demonstrate ethical use of computers and technology

¨       Demonstrate continued interest in technology by enrolling in additional technology courses

¨       Completed a service project in the area of technology during his/her previous year of membership.

The member will become a scholar if his/her application is approved by the Sponsor Committee.

Graduation Cords and Senior Assembly

Senior Scholars who are in good standing and who have completed at least one service project during their year as a Senior Scholar will be honored at graduation with a cord and at Senior Assembly.  (This is subject to administrative approval.)

Inactive Membership:

A member will become an inactive member if he/she does not attain Scholar level after one-year of regular membership.  During the time that the student is inactive, he/she will not be listed as a member or allowed to participate in any club activities.

Once the student has corrected the deficiencies that caused him/her to become inactive, he/she may apply for Scholar status and become active again.

Probationary and Revocation of Membership:

Any student who is disciplined through the office for a technology-related issue will have his/her membership revoked.   Students who exhibit unethical, illegal or irresponsible actions may have their membership revoked.

Students whose behavior is inappropriate or questionable may be placed on probation.  If the problem persists, their membership will be revoked.

The Sponsor Committee will meet and discuss the issues mentioned above.  Probation or revocation of membership will require a majority vote of this committee.

Officers:

After the first year of the society’s existence, only Scholars will be eligible to become officers and committee chairs.  They will be chosen by a majority vote of the membership.  The Sponsor Committee has the right to veto an officer choice.

A team of four officers will be elected by the membership.  Once the team is elected, the four officers and the sponsors will meet to assign the position of president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer to the four.

 Dues:

Dues will be set or revised by a majority vote of the members.

Sponsor Committee:

There will be one primary sponsor and a committee of teachers who teach the qualifying course who serve as co-sponsors.  This committee will review applications for membership and determine the membership of the club.  They will also determine whether a student has qualified for Scholar status.  It will be their responsibility for removing members for serious infractions and placing students on  inactive or probationary status.

Adding Technology Courses to the Qualifying List:

The teacher of that course must approach the faculty sponsor committee and discuss the technology used in the course.  The teacher must also agree to serve as on the sponsor committee.  A course will be added provided it meets the criteria of the committee (determined by a vote of the sponsor committee) and the teacher’s agreement to serve on the committee.

Amendment of the Constitution

This constitution can be amended with a majority vote of the membership and a majority vote of the sponsors.
