"Nite School"


Nite School will hold 6 sessions. Each session is 5 weeks, Monday-Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
APPLICATION is to make up credits only - not to 'get ahead' on credits.

Session I NO CLASSES IN SESSION I 1/2 Credit
Sessions II October 15 - November 15 1/2 Credit
Session III November 19 - December 20 1/2 Credit
Session IV TO BE ANNOUNCED 1/2 Credit
Session V TO BE ANNOUNCED 1/2 Credit
Session VI TO BE ANNOUNCED 1/2 Credit
 

TIME


Monday through Thursday Nights
FIRST NIGHT:  Meet in your assigned classroom at 3:30 p.m.
 

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • A student must have an application on file with classes approved by his/her school counselor
  • Springdale High School students will be placed first with other students placed on stand-by basis
  • Credits for a student who is not enrolled in SHS will be transferred to the school he/she attends for meeting graduation requirements and earning a diploma
  • A student must be trying to meet graduation requirements from his/her school

ATTENDANCE

  • A student may miss no than two days per session
  • Payment is due before the first night of each session. If payment is not received before the second night, the student will forfeit his/her place in the class.

NITE SCHOOL
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

  1. CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (9TH GRADE):
    Student must submit application to counselor at his/her junior high school. The junior high school counselor will verify the needed courses, sign the application, and submit the application to the SHS Nite School counselor.
    ** The Nite School grade will be submitted to the junior high school registrar for transcript documentation.
  2. CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN SHS NITE SCHOOL ONLY:
    Student must submit application to Nite School counselor for verification of needed courses. He/She will verify the needed courses, sign the application, and submit the application.
    ** The Nite School grade will be submitted to SHS registrar for transcript documentation.
  3. CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN ANOTHER SCHOOL DISTRICT:
    Student must submit application to the counselor at his/her school for verification of needed courses. The counselor will verify the needed courses, sign the application, and submit the application.
    ** The Nite School grade will be submitted to the registrar at the student's home school for transcript documentation.
  4. 18 YEARS OLD OR OLDER / NOT ENROLLED IN SCHOOL / TRYING TO COMPLETE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FROM THEIR HOME SCHOOL:
    Student must meet with Nite School counselor (3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) to fill out the Nite School application and to sign a release of information form for copy of transcript and immunization records.
    ** The Nite School grade will be submitted to the registrar at the student's home school for transcript documentation toward a diploma from the home school.
    ** A student from another school may not take Nite School / Learning Center classes only and receive a diploma from SHS.

A list of classes for each session of Nite School and the students assigned will be posted at the SHS High School counseling center and Mr. Phillips' office the Friday before the session begins.
