Out-Of-School Suspension (OSS) |
|
Out-of-School Suspension may be assigned for misconduct, repeated truancies, failure to serve detention, defiance of authority, fighting, and for any other action deemed appropriate by school administration. Suspensions normally range in length from 3 to 10 days. Students are eligible for up to 50% credit for all work missed during a suspension. While suspended, students are not allowed to participate in athletic or extra-curricular activities (on or off SHS campus). Students may not attend school functions, e.g. athletic events, dances, club/organization events, etc. While suspended, students are not to be on any Springdale school campus. Details related to student suspensions will be communicated to students and parents/guardians at the time of suspension via personal conference, phone conference, and/or written notification. All terms of the suspension must be fulfilled before a student can return to school.
