STUCO President's Welcome Letter
2007-2008

Welcome Back Students and Teachers!
With school back in session, I can’t help but feel slightly nostalgic as
my last summer as a high school student comes to a close. Graduation
looming closer and closer, I know that I want to end my high school
career with memorable experiences and lots of Kodak moments. As a
senior, I have a couple years experience here at Springdale High and I
hope my advice is helpful to my fellow students:
Entering Sophomores: Welcome! Your first year at Springdale High
will undoubtedly be one of the most trying and most rewarding. With
nowhere to go but up, the world is at your fingertips; I urge you to get
involved, creating lasting impacts that will follow you throughout your
high school career, and continue even after you graduate.
Returning Juniors: Welcome Back! With sophomore year behind you,
the most difficult academic year is in front of you! This college preparatory
year is used to show the admissions boards “what you’ve got”. With
your future still uncertain, it is crucial that everyone applies themselves
entirely to their studies. One never wants to burn bridges when plans are
not set in stone. Discover new bridges, look at your options, and then
decide which ones to take.
Seniors: The best year is finally here! With two years of experience
behind us, there is no reason not to excel in and around the Springdale
community. Opportunities surround us and we must rely on ourselves to
make life-changing decisions and to act as young adults. I challenge the
senior class to leave behind a legacy and become the best class that we
all know we are capable of.
Again, welcome back to Springdale High School. Whether Sophomore,
Junior, or Senior, live up your respective year and embrace it for what it
is. Learn from it and use the gained knowledge as you move forward in
life. GO BULLDOGS!
Your Student Council President,
Samuel C. Chewning
