AP Studio Art

In this course, highly motivated students develop a portfolio under the guidelines of the College Board. At the end of the year, instead of a written examination, each student is required to submit a slide portfolio of works that reflect a variety of artistic concerns, as well as a series of works exploring a personal idea or theme. While camera equipment is available in the classroom, it is the responsibility of the student to purchase slide film. AP Studio Art is considered a college-level course; due to the demanding requirements, the need for a strong personal interest in art and excellent individual work skills are essential for success. Artwork from previous courses can help students complete this portfolio.
