History of Music

This course is an extension of the Music Theory course and offers to the advanced music student an in-depth study of the periods of music including the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century periods of music. Included in each major period is a study of the major composers and how the characteristics of their music changed the style of music. Identification of major works and music listening are stressed.
