A Student Activism Club at SHS

ASAP is a club founded to bring SHS students from diverse backgrounds together to:
  • Increase international understanding and awareness of global issues
  • Promote civil discourse, peace and non-violence
  • Teach tolerance and the benefits of reducing discrimination and prejudice
  • Develop pride in a more inclusive school and community
  • Provide a forum to explore opportunities for further study, work, or careers in humanitarian fields and others that require international understanding and awareness of global issues
  • Research conservation of the natural environment and explore ways to increase the beauty and harmony of our school and local environment
  • Be committed to personal improvement

Regular monthly meetings will be held the 4th Tuesday during activity period and after school until 5:30 p.m. in room 912. You must have your 2007-2008 pink membership card.

Our activities include movies, field trips, volunteer efforts, dances, guest speakers, pen pal projects, and Mix It Up Day promotion.
